Please note the following Trek pick-up and drop-off times.

For the Vanguard Company, they are meeting at the Stake Center on Wednesday, 5/29/13 at 10AM.

For youth going on Thursday, 5/30/13, please plan to have youth arrive at the Trek site around 7:15 AM.

Pick-up time on Saturday, 6/1/13 will be around 11:30 at the pick-up point.

Drop-Off Location
The drop-off location for Thursday morning is at “Winter Quarters”, near the intersection of Forest Road 20 and Forest Road 533 (about 14 miles east-southeast of Cuba).

Directions:

  1. Head northwest on US-550 N toward Cuba (~50 miles from NM-528/US-550).
  2. Turn right after mile marker 52 toward County Road 11 (dirt road).
  3. Go 5.2 miles on County Road 11
  4. Turn right onto Forest Road 78.
  5. Continue east on Forest Road 78 (~2.7 miles).
  6. Stay left on Forest Road 78 toward Forest Road 20 (vs. San Miguel Road).
  7. Go 2.4 miles on Forest Road 20 to Winter Quarters on the right side.
  8. You will be directed to designated parking and drop-off locations.

Pick-up Location

The pick-up location on Saturday is at NM Highway 126 and Forest Road 20 (about 17 miles southeast of Cuba).

Directions:

1.      Head northwest on US-550 N to Cuba (~62 miles from NM-528/US-550).

2.      Turn right onto NM-126 S.

3.      Head southeast on NM-126.
4.      The road splits a ½ mile out of town – stay to the right on NM-126.
5.      Continue on NM-126 until it turns into a dirt road (~10 miles).
6.      Continue on NM-126 (dirt road) (~7 miles), staying on the main road and keeping to the right at any fork in the road.
7.      Turn right onto Forest Road 20 a ¼ mile past the 17-mile marker,
8.      Head south on Forest Road 20 for about 200 feet.
9.      You will be directed to designated parking.

NOTE: The base camp is about 3 miles further south on Forest Road 20, just past the bridge.

  1. Are there directions somewhere for leaders coming up on Friday? Are we supposed to go to base camp and is there parking there or are we supposed to park at the pick up location and either walk the 3 miles or will there be transportation? Maybe one of the emails said something?
